DESCRIPTIONS

Colerain Park - 29 Acres

4725 Springdale Road

 

Visit Colerain  Megaland playground and numerous other play equipment. Sand volleyball and basketball courts are available along with 2 baseball fields that are open to the public when not otherwise being used by teams who have reserved the fields. Three shelters are reservable on weekends April through October for a $65 fee (reservations are accepted beginning March 1 of each year).   The fourth shelter is reservable in June, July and August for a $65 fee, but is available on a first come, first served basis in April, May, September and October (unless otherwise determined by the Township). Free Summer Daytime Youth Activity Program for residents during June, July and August. Evening entertainment through the activities program including teen concerts, camp outs, magic shows, and free movies in the park during the months of June, July and August. Also enjoy the Concerts in the Park series in June, July and August featuring everything from big bands to rock.  One set of restrooms at the Park serves as a severe weather shelter.

 

Major improvements were made to Colerain Park in 2003. Additional recreational facilities include a 1-mile walk path, two state of the art baseball fields, amphitheater, a concession stand, two additional shelters, additional restrooms, tot play area, and expanded parking.  Click here for more information on Colerain Park.

 

Clippard Park - 15 Acres

Clippard Park will be closed to the public during construction, which is scheduled to begin Monday, July 13, 2009.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parks & Services Office at (513)385-7503.

Accessed from Springdale Road to Seasons Drive to Pottinger Road to Dewhill Drive.  Scheduled for expansion and reconstruction in 2009.  Please click here to view plans and read additional information about the park construction.

 

Obergiesing Soccer Complex at Dravo Park - 16 Acres

Located along the Great Miami River on East Miami River Road, one mile southwest of Blue Rock Road

 

Soccer fields, swings, canoe access ramp.   

 

 

Meehan Park - 1.5 Acres

2501 John Gray Road near Hamilton Avenue

Play equipment, small baseball field, and basketball.

 

Palm Memorial Park - 1 Acre

Next to Colerain Fire Headquarters, 3251 Springdale Road

Basketball courts.

 

Skyline Park - 1.5 Acres

8400 Pippin Road

Play equipment, basketball, walking trail connecting to Skyline Community Center with excercise stations along the path.  The Community Center next door has a full playground and gymnasium.

 

Drew Campbell Memorial Commons -  6.5 Acres

Coleraine Heritage Memorial - .25 Acres

Colerain Township historical plague, gazebo,  inscribed brick walkway, monuments to Township service personnel, settlers and military veterans. Historic artifacts from the Township.     

 

 

Heritage Park - 126 Acres

11405 East Miami River Road

 

One mile southwest of Ross Bridge, along the Great Miami River and adjacent to the Historic Dunlap Station Cemetery.

 

Property is flat, has one mile of river frontage, and is home to an abundance of wildlife species (Click here to obtain view a copy of the Bird Inventory of the park). The river frontage provides for both water recreational opportunities and serves as an easily accessible ramp for the Fire & EMS Department on water rescue emergencies. The flat topography allows for both active sport fields and passive recreational activities coexisting with the greenspace environment of the Great Miami River.  The land is reported to be the site of Fort Coleraine, the scene of a fierce Indian attack on Colerain settlers in the 1790's. 

Heritage Park offers 4 NCAA regulation sized baseball fields (grass infields on two), Disc Golf course, a picnic shelter, playground, canoe access ramp onto the Great Miami River, walking trails, ecolab, and a rain garden.

Groesbeck Park - 16.8 Acres

This property, located next to the Groesbeck Branch of the Hamilton County Library and St. Ann's Church on Galbraith, is currently under construction.

 

Wert Park

3460 W. Galbraith Road

Undeveloped park donated by Bob Wert and family in October 2009.   The property currently has two houses, a large garage, small greenhouse, a vegetable garden, and woods.   Planning for the future use of this park is underway.

Adjacent to Colerain Park and next door to Colerain Elementary at the corner of Poole and Springdale Roads.

 

Visit the Parks office for Park information, baseball field rental, amphitheater rental and information on historical cemeteries in the Township.  Shelter rental will stay at the Administration Complex until the 2006 rental season begins (click here for more information on shelter rental). You can also view artifacts recovered from Heritage Park including arrowheads that date back several hundred years.
