HIP loans are now available for commercial properties with values up to $350,000.00. In addition, owners of residential buildings with three or more units are eligible regardless of property value.

The "HIP" loan allows homeowners in Hamilton County communities to borrow money to repair or remodel their homes, commercial, or rental property at interest rates 3% below the lowest rate a bank would normally offer.

Participation in the program is not limited by income and there are few other restrictions. Loan proceeds can be used for almost any improvement or repair project, such as additions, facade improvements, remodeling, exterior enhancements, or landscaping. Funds cannot be used for installation of luxury items, such as swimming pools or hot tubs, or to purchase appliances. Loans are limited to a maximum of $50,000 and must be repaid within 5 years.
