Police Honor Guard

One of our newest programs within the Colerain Township Police Department is the establishment of a Police Honor Guard. In the early part of 2002 we reached out to the community with a vision in mind - to create an Honor Guard that would look and act professional who would represent the professional attitude of the Colerain Township Police Department. The response from the community was outstanding. Thanks to the generous people of Colerain Township, we were able to generate over $5700 in donations to cover the necessary expenses of creating the Honor Guard. The cost of the uniforms alone amounted to over $600 for each of the six officers. Other items that were purchased included an America flag and a State of Ohio flag that they will carry in parades. Many people and businesses stepped up to contribute with Biggs and Rumpke leading the way by donating $1000 each. We truly appreciate everyone's support.

The Honor Guard has already performed at several ceremonial events recently including the Police Memorial Day Parade, the Colerain Township Business Association's luncheon, the opening of the June 11th Trustee meeting, and the flagpole dedication ceremony held during the annual Fourth of July celebration. Because the Honor Guard was funded by your donations, they are available at community events. If you would like to request the Honor Guard perform at your event please contact Sergeant Joe Redmond at jredmond@coleraintwp.org or call 513-923-5024.
